March 29-30, 2012 / Birthright Citizenship Conference at the University of Maryland

The Center for the History of the New America at the University of Maryland--a recently-formed, non-profit organization housed in the history department and devoted to gathering resources and promoting interdisciplinary approaches to the study of immigration history in the U.S. will be holding their first conference "Born in the USA: The Politics of Birthright Citizenship in Historical Perspective" on March 29-30, 2012. The conference will take place at the University of Maryland's campus in College Park and is sponsored by the Institute for Constitutional History and the University of Maryland Law School and will feature keynote speaker and Pulitzer Prize winning historian Eric Foner.

This event is free and open to the public and all are invited to attend.
